The surveyor and the field crew.

Mossburgh is a founder-led engineering firm out of Manhattan, Kansas. One name on the door, one standard for the work, and a crew that grows to fit the ground.

Kaid Mossburgh

Founder & CEO

Kaid started in fire and evacuation simulation software, the kind of engineering where a wrong number has real consequences. That never wore off. He studied computer science at Kansas State, then spent the next decade building systems where mistakes are expensive, banking platforms as a principal engineer inside a regulated national bank, fintech infrastructure, and HIPAA-compliant healthcare systems shipped end to end.

Along the way he kept watching the same failure repeat. Companies bought technology services and got handed prototypes, decks, and invoices, while the people who actually understood the system rotated off to the next account. The judgment they were paying for never stayed in the room.

Mossburgh is his answer to that. A firm where the person who surveys your ground is the person who answers for what gets built on it. Kaid leads every engagement, sets the standard for every line of work that ships, and picks up when you call.

The field crew

A crew, not a bench.

Some engagements are one surveyor and a notebook. Others need more hands. When they do, Kaid brings trusted engineers onto the crew, people he has shipped with before, working under Mossburgh’s standards and Kaid’s review. The crew scales with the terrain, the accountability never moves.

You will never be handed off to a team you didn’t meet, and nothing leaves the shop without the founder’s name behind it. That’s what one standard for the work means in practice.

How the work gets done

01

Walk the ground first.

No proposal before we understand the terrain. Surveying badly costs more than surveying slowly.

02

Build, don’t just advise.

Strategy without execution is expensive opinions. We do both, in the same engagement, with the same crew.

03

Sign the work.

Everything that ships carries the firm’s name and the founder’s standard. If it breaks, you know exactly who to call, and they pick up.

The companies I’ve seen struggle with technology all had the same thing in common. They were buying services when they needed someone in their corner.

Kaid, Founder

Built on the prairie. Shipped to the cloud.

Mossburgh is rooted in Manhattan, Kansas. The crew works from wherever the right people live, and the clients are anywhere. The roots are not an accident and not a limitation. They’re where the firm’s habits come from, straight answers, honest numbers, and work that holds up because someone’s name is on it.
